Horrible
Chelsea loanee Michy Batshuayi has confirmed that he suffered racial abuse while playing for the club in the Europa League tonight.
The Belgian striker left London to join Borussia Dortmund on loan in January after he was adjudged to have been too far out of favour.
Antonio Conte was clearly not willing to play him and Olivier Giroud was brought in, pushing him further down the pecking order.
That left Michy to join Borussia Dortmund and he hasn’t looked back since, scoring goals for fun.
Though, his Dortmund career took a sombre turn during a Europa League clash with Atalanta on Thursday evening.
The German side were looking to confirm their place in the next round of the competition with a win over the Italian side.
While that was the case, confirming their passage with a 4-3 scoreline on aggregate, it was Batshuayi who was at the centre of racial abuse.
A few Twitter accounts picked up on the fact that Italian fans were making monkey noises towards Batshuayi.
Batshuayi later confirmed on social media that he was the subject of monkey noises during the game, much to the disgrace of all football fans.
Not long after, Batshuayi followed up that tweet by claiming ‘2018 and still racists monkey noises in the stands … really ?!’
He finished the tweet off with a brilliant reply to those fans who abused him, ‘hope you have fun watching the rest of Europa League on TV while we are through…’
Fair play, Michy!
was that Atalanta fans making monkey noises at @mbatshuayi??

Why is Michy Batshuayi playing so well at Dortmund?
It’s been such a successful time for Michy at Borussia Dortmund.
The Belgian has a new lease of life and maybe it shouldn’t be such a surprise.
