Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has this afternoon provided a fitness update on his squad, ahead of their meeting with Crystal Palace this weekend.
Chelsea vs Crystal Palace
The Blues are set to welcome London rivals Palace to Stamford Bridge tomorrow afternoon, for their latest Premier League outing.
Chelsea will head into proceedings amid a fine run of league form.
Since falling to defeat at the hands of table-topping Liverpool late in September, the capital giants have since racked up 5 straight wins in the English top-flight.
The latest of these came last weekend, when Lampard’s men put Watford to the sword by 2 goals to 1.
Chelsea updates
Chelsea’s fine recent form, though, has actually come with a number of the club’s key performers sidelined with respective injury problems.
The likes of Antonio Rudiger, N’Golo Kante, Emerson Palmieri, Andreas Christensen and Ross Barkley have all been forced to sit out matchups of late, due to fitness concerns.
The latest Blues star to have picked up an issue, meanwhile, was Mason Mount, with the English international having been forced off during Chelsea’s comeback draw with Ajax in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
As such, speaking in his pre-match press conference this evening, Frank Lampard was asked for an update on Mount, as well as some of his other sidelined stars.
And the Chelsea boss went on to reveal that while Mount is in fact still in contention to feature versus Palace, Ross Barkley has been ruled out:
Lampard reports that Ross Barkley is not in the squad for tomorrow due to an ongoing issue. Mason Mount is in the squad and his fitness will be assessed in the morning. #CHECRY

It was also confirmed that Antonio Rudiger has been forced to undergo surgery, and is set for another 3 weeks out of action:
Lampard reports Toni Rudiger will be out for about three weeks following surgery. He confirms Ruben Loftus-Cheek still has time to go on his rehabilitation. That is all from the boss here but there will be more soon on https://t.co/OFDrFXj77c and The 5th Stand soon.#CHECRY
