Milinkovic-Savic a priority signing for Chelsea if transfer ban lifted – Mirror

Lazio standout

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has been on Lazio’s books since August of 2015 when he made the switch from Belgian outfit, Genk.

Lazio are said to have paid around £16.2m for Milinkovic-Savic’s services.

In total, the midfield powerhouse has featured on 178 occasions for Lazio, in which he has found the back of the net 33 times and provided 24 assists.

The 24-year-old has had a particularly impressive start to the current campaign.

In 15 games across all competitions, SMS has scored two and assisted five.

After once again impressing in the Serie A, Milinkovic-Savic is being linked with a move to England.

According to the Mirror, should Chelsea’s transfer ban be lifted, Frank Lampard has made the Lazio standout a priority signing:

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has made £70million-rated Lazio midfield star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic a priority signing if the club’s transfer ban is lifted.

Chelsea were unable to sign players over the summer after being hit with a two-window transfer ban.

But it was reported last week that the Blues will appeal the ban to the Court of Arbitration for Sport on November 20th.

Chelsea continue to impress

Given Chelsea’s current form though, they probably wouldn’t be too concerned if they can’t sign anyone in January.

Chelsea’s latest outing saw them take on Crystal Palace on Saturday and emerge with a 2-0 victory.

That win means Chelsea are now nine points clear of 5th place Sheffield United.
